A Little About.....
Adelle and Ron Milavsky
We live in the Northeastern United States when it is warm there and in the South
when it is cold in the Northeast, and lately, in Europe when we can get away for a time.
We have been traveling together
for more than 50 years. We met as students and married shortly after Ron's college graduation in 1955. We raised two children and
have two granddaughters. We began camping in our antique cabin cruiser, and developed the habit of going our own way – which is also
the essence of RV travel. After traveling in many countries, we bought our own RV, which freed us to go our own way once again. Adelle
holds an Associate Degree from a division of the University of Hartford (CT)and was a homemaker and a jewelry designer before writing
the book which is described on our website. Ron holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and a Ph.D. from Columbia
University in New York City. He was Vice-President of News & Social Research at NBC for many years, and Professor of Mass Communication
at the University of Connecticut from 1989 to 1996. He is past president of the American Association of Public Opinion Research. We
toured the U.S. in our 21.5 foot RV in 2001 before our tours of Europe in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. If nothing untoward happens,
our next trip will begin in Mid-July, 2007.
In 2001 we bought and repaired a small motorhome and toured the United States
for 77 days. We enjoyed that trip so much that we began thinking about how nice a motorhome trip would be in Europe. That led
to our first RV trip there in 2002. More about our traveling there is on the next page. When we returned from that trip,
Adelle wrote a book aimed at helping others decide whether they would like to travel the way we do and to describe pretty much all
they need to know to actually do it. The book was published by
Intrepid Traveler, a company that specializes in travel books.
